"I have our first guest on the line now. Welcome to the show."

"Hi, thanks for having me!"

"Tell us a little about your alien encounter."

"It was flying around over Washington Park."

"..."

"..."

"What did the alien look like?"

"Oh, I didn't see the alien."

"You didn't-"

"It was flying a UFO."

"...Well, I wouldn't be so hasty. We've told many stories about humanoid aliens flying advanced machines, but we don't really know anything about alien life. Unless you saw LGMs in the cockpit, we can't make assumptions about their biology or the tools they use."

"Oh, so, like, the saucer could *be* the alien?"

"Yes, exactly. Why don't you start from the beginning and give us as many details as you can?"

It was a couple days ago, maybe 11:30. I was walking on the corner of 21st and Myrtle - my house is a block over, but.
I couldn't sleep. Sometimes it just doesn't happen, you know? I get sick of tossing and turning, my room feels more cramped at night... So I walk.
The first sign was like a buzz, or a rumble - so quiet, I didn't notice it over my own footsteps at first. Then, it grew stronger, and I thought it was maybe a semi or a street cleaner going a couple blocks over. Then, I started looking around - it sounded like it coulda been right next to me, but I couldn't see any trucks. Then it kept getting louder. I covered my ears. At this point the rumbling was starting to make me queasy. Lights in houses were turning on. It kept getting worse, until just before the quake knocked me over, a wave of pressure blew over me. My ears popped. I looked up and saw -

For just a second, it filled the sky.

Maybe I was in the eye of the storm, or maybe I was so shocked I forgot about the world shaking around me. I don't know. But I won't forget that quiet moment as long as I live.
The actual shape of the thing was hard to make out. You could only tell where it was when it blocked out the stars, and there weren't many stars out to begin with. In the middle of it (I think it was the middle), pale blue softly glowing lines traced out from a pool of light, like when a little kid draws the sun. There was a little bit of wonder in how it looked, I think. Like it didn't *have* to look so beautiful, but somebody somewhere decided it should. They were right.
Then, time started moving again, again I noticed the rumbling, now growing softer as it disappeared over the treetops. When it passed it left nothing behind, except awe, and barking dogs.
What next? Well, I had to follow it, of course. I ran back to my house on Clifton street and - getting in my car, I realized - I could see it moving again. It had started going upwards. The light had risen above the trees, and it was moving northwest. Don't ask me why, but I got the feeling that its destination was somewhere over Washington Park. I floored it.
I know, you're not supposed to go into the park that late, but, come on! Can you blame me? I ran quiet as I could through footpaths and, when I couldn't find the saucer anywhere in the sky, just plain tumbled through the woods. Eventually, in a grassy little clearing, I spotted it above me.
It had gotten far enough away that I couldn't feel the rumble over my pounding heartbeat. The light shrunk to a dot just a little smaller than the moon, and it didn't block out the stars anymore. After a while, I couldn't tell if it was getting smaller or not. I laid down in the center of the clearing and watched it leave. It didn't just travel straight up, like you'd think it would. It made wide loops in the sky. I watched it spin for a long time. Call me crazy, but it was like we were dancing - The UFO led, making circles in the night sky, and the rest of Earth followed, spinning and spinning.
I wish I could follow.
Eventually, I couldn't see the little blue light anymore. I drove home, fell on my bed, and was out in a snap. I don't have problems falling asleep anymore.

"So, the noise was loud enough to wake up the neighborhood? Maybe someone else saw it, too."

"Well, I asked around. People were weirded out, but apparently nobody else actually saw anything. My neighbor Dan thought it was a fleet of spy planes."

"Well, thank you very much for coming and sharing your story tonight."

"Of course! I'm so lucky to have seen it."

"If anybody else saw the movement of this alien craft, don't hesitate to reach out with supporting details. In the meantime, why don't we head to a commercial break?"
